ArtMento Community Guidelines

ArtMento is a community for artists who want to practice, learn, and grow together. Our goal is to create a space where people feel comfortable sharing artwork, asking questions, and giving constructive feedback.

These Community Guidelines describe the standards expected from everyone participating in the ArtMento community.

By posting or interacting with content on ArtMento, you agree to follow these guidelines.

1. Be Respectful and Supportive

ArtMento is built around learning and improvement.
When engaging with other artists:

• Be respectful and encouraging
• Offer constructive critique rather than negative judgment
• Focus feedback on the artwork, not the person
• Recognize that artists may be at different skill levels

Helpful critique examples:

Good critique:

“The lighting is interesting. You might try increasing contrast around the focal point.”

Unhelpful critique:

“This looks bad.”

We encourage thoughtful discussion that helps artists improve.

2. Critique Constructively

Critique is an important part of artistic growth.
When commenting on someone’s work:
Try to focus on elements such as:

• composition
• color relationships
• light and shadow
• visual balance
• storytelling or mood

Suggestions are welcome, but avoid presenting your opinion as the only correct approach.
Art is subjective, and multiple interpretations are valid.

3. Respect Other Artists’ Work

Artists own the artwork they create and share.
Users must not:

• copy another user’s artwork without permission
• claim another artist’s work as their own
• sell or redistribute artwork created by others
• remove artist attribution

If you wish to reference another artist’s work, please give proper credit.
Respect for artists is fundamental to the ArtMento community.

4. Use AI Tools Responsibly

ArtMento provides AI tools to support artistic learning.
These tools may generate:

• reference images
• exercises and quizzes
• critiques of artwork
• art history explanations

AI-generated references should be used as creative inspiration and practice material.
Users should not:

• misrepresent AI-generated images as works created by specific artists
• intentionally replicate identifiable copyrighted artworks
• use AI tools to impersonate real artists

ArtMento is designed to support creativity, not replace artists.

5. Share Appropriate Content

The ArtMento community should remain a welcoming space for artists.
Users may not post content that:

• is sexually explicit or pornographic
• promotes violence or harm
• contains hate speech or harassment
• targets individuals or groups with discrimination
• is illegal or unlawful

Content that violates these guidelines may be removed.
Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

6. Protect the Learning Environment

ArtMento is intended to support artistic learning.
Please avoid:

• spamming the community with repetitive posts
• posting unrelated promotional content
• attempting to manipulate or disrupt discussions

Constructive participation helps everyone grow as artists.

7. Respect Intellectual Property

Do not upload or share content that infringes on the copyright or intellectual property rights of others.
Examples of violations include:

• posting copyrighted artworks without permission
• uploading images taken from books or paid courses without authorization
• sharing content you do not have rights to distribute

If you believe your work has been posted without permission, you may submit a copyright report through the process described in our DMCA policy.

8. Reporting Concerns

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, you can report it to the ArtMento moderation team.
Reports help us maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Our team may review and take action, which could include:

• removing content
• issuing warnings
• restricting community access
• suspending accounts

9. Moderation

ArtMento reserves the right to moderate content and enforce these guidelines.
Moderation decisions may include:

• removing posts or comments
• limiting certain features
• suspending accounts that repeatedly violate community standards

These actions help maintain a respectful learning environment.

ArtMento is a place where artists of all levels come together to:

• explore ideas
• practice regularly
• learn from great artworks
• support each other’s creative journey
